RICARDO FREITAS

Movement Teacher & Coach

A thoughtful practice of listening and intelligent movement designed to build a body that feels capable, agile, and strong. Whether you want to move effortlessly in your day-to-day life, develop lasting flexibility, or sharpen your physical resilience, we work together from wherever you are starting today.

THE PHILOSOPHY

I work at the intersection of somatic awareness and physical transformation, guiding individuals toward a fundamentally different relationship with their bodies. Moving away from rigid, standard routines, my practice is built on developing an inner sanctuary—a stable baseline from which physical and mental resilience can grow.Rather than chasing quick fixes or superficial trends, my work focuses on physical alchemy: learning how to listen to, understand, and systematically untangle your body's mechanics. The objective is simple: to help you establish a grounded, reliable foundation for health that you can sustain for the rest of your life.

The Foundation Below: 5-Minute Foot Opening Routine

Our feet are the structural foundation of the entire body—it is from the ground up that our posture, alignment, and movement patterns are organized. Engaging daily in practices that open, hydrate, and nurture the tissues of the feet is vital for preventing injury, releasing parasitic tension throughout the kinetic chain, and guiding your overall structure into lasting ease and balance.

UP AND COMING OPPORTUNITIES

online dance module

ABOUT THE CLASSES

In this bundle of 10 online classes, we will focus on working with tools to further develop your movement vocabulary. This approach not only enlarges the movement options you can draw from when working with improvisation, but also provides perspective on how to autonomously develop the process of transforming 'mundane' movement into 'expressive' movement.During the classes, you will be guided through specific scores that will help unlock your creativity further, and you will also receive insight on how to craft your own scores to autonomously carry on the work even after the live process has finished. The main purpose is to demystify the idea that dance is something only professionals can do. To understand that, through the experience of going through the scores and understanding how they are created, you can easily transform your relationship with dance and start using it as an open tool for exploration and self-observation.

MATERIALS & SPACE REQUIRED

-The classes will have a duration of 75 minutes and are curated in a way that you won't need to rent a dance studio to perform them; a space of 3m by 3m is enough to conduct the practice.-In-ear or headphones that you can comfortably move with, or good speakers, are highly advised for the best immersion possible.-You will also be asked to have a notebook to note specific information during the class and to journal about the process.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The classes will be recorded, and the links to the respective recordings will be shared in a closed Telegram group for further practice during the week or in case you cannot attend live. The program is designed so that the classes are interactive, so attending them live should be a priority. They will run progressively, so in case of a student's absence, it is expected that they set aside personal time to go over the missed material before attending the next session live. The focus will be on non-professionals of all levels, but everyone is welcome. No previous dance experience is necessary.
